With gratitude to the Almighty, we invite you to join us in writing and dedicating ‘Uzi’s Torah’ in memory of Uziyohu Brown – renowned Sofer (Scribe) for almost 50 years. Uzi resided in Manchester, UK and was highly respected all over the globe. His passion for writing Torah Scrolls, Tefillin, Mezuzot and various other sacred items was second to none.
On the 24th Tevet 5783, Uzi’s soul returned to his Maker after a very short illness. He was a mere 67 years of age, however, he achieved so much in his lifetime. Thousands of Mezuzos, hundreds of Tefillin, over 45 Torah scrolls, numerous Megillohs and much more are, his legacy spread around the globe.
The family want to dedicate, in his memory, the Torah scroll which Uzi started to write for a Shul in Manchester, but was unable to continue due to his illness. The Torah is currently being completed in Israel and the final letters will be inscribed with our donors and partners in Liverpool in the dedication and celebration ceremony, that we plan to do B’ezras Hashem within the upcoming year. The Torah scroll will be donated to his son’s Chabad House in Liverpool after being used for a short while in his son’s Shul in Florida. This is a very unique and monumental opportunity, as this will be the last ‘Uzi Brown Sefer Torah’ which are highly respected and desired around the world.
